Uncle's Biggest Fan

Image
At Alice's teacher conferences last week, I spied this gem on the bulletin board. The first graders must have been talking about their five senses. Alice's favorite smell? Her "uncle's soap." He makes homemade soap and she's been taking great care to use it since he gave us the bars for Christmas.  And don't you just love phonetic spelling!?!

What I'm Loving in My Bathroom

Because I'm not that kind of girl who knows a lot about beauty products, when I find something I like that works, I'm super-excited about it. Here's a few things that are working right now ... Bumble & Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Conditioner - I have used a lot of shampoos and conditioners. Changing your brand helps control build-up, and that's a fact. But it's not often I find one that makes my hair feel as clean as this does. And it smells great, too! Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum - I have had the SAME bottle for just under a decade, I'm not kidding. I only use a pea or two size of this oil before I blow dry my hair. Chamomile Ma...

Plus, it's a natural sweetener you can get locally.  But, yuck. Too bitter.  Granola -- healthy, nutritious and cheap. My hubby loves it. But me? No thanks.   Jam and Pickles - because I took a jamming seminar and thought it was the coolest thing, but why go through all that just to make something I don't like to eat?   Applesauce -- my Mom used to hide penicillin in applesauce, thus all applesauce has that awful chalky taste to me. Done.  Oatmeal -- seriously, why don't I like oatmeal? Much the same reason as granola, I guess. I discovered steal-...
