Basement Progress, Almost Done

Basement painting rolls on ... 

If you recall from the masterplan, there is the other half of the basement that needs paint and attention. So this weekend, that continued. 

Here's the view from the bottom of the stairs to the right all painted and starting to be set up. The over-sized SoHo image (I worked around the corner from that building) and table are the snack, craft, area. You can catch a glimpse of the fridge area that will get a built-in cabinet next to it for a little kitchenette vibe.  


Then you've got the other direction from the bottom of the stairs. The billiards area, that still needs to be painted. And dusted off, obviously. The mural stays and a hanging light needs to be found. (There's a reStore trip in my future ...) 


And the LAST project of the basement will be this doozy .... 


The stairs overhaul will be a BIG project on its own, but after some shopping around, I have a pretty good idea of what it will look like. I'll create a whole post on that later. But I may take a break from basement work to tackle a few quick main-floor jobs.

The good news ... it's WORKING!!! The girls spent some time in the basement exercising last night and it's a clean, organized space they were able to play in. And I love it when a unused space becomes super-usable. Like gaining a whole new room!

I'm so close to the finish line on this one ... I can't wait!

Family Room: The Accent Wall

Wall: Before Ever since I started to think about decorating this house -- way back in October -- I knew I wanted to do a dramatic accent wall in the family room. The room is huge with two-story ceilings. There are six windows on one wall and four more flanking the fireplace -- so this room could definitely handle a dark, rich color. 3. La Ortava A charming old town in the valley above Puerto de la Cruz. In my memory, it was green and lush, but in reality it's a small village populated by ancient buildings and nice locals.
